So on the 22nd March we returned to Centre Parcs, the only one I’ve ever been to at Whinfell, for probably my 6th visit, and the 2nd time with the kids. Because we were going by ourselves this time we opted to stay in one of the newly refurbished lodges. These seem noticeably smaller than the traditional two story lodges (these are currently being refurbished) but for the amount of time you actually spend in them who cares!
As always the checking in was a breeze and surprisingly for a mid week break in school term time when I took the car back to the car park it was full, Centre Parcs is obviously doing very well even through the credit crunch!
We were based down in Moorland view which seems a bit of a trek to the centre but in actual fact was only a 10 minute walk. We had exceptionally sunny weather so it was always a good walk especially if you get the kids to look for squirrels and other wildlife on the way. Talking of wildlife don’t miss the pond hidden away at the bottom right of the map, it was obviously frog spawning week when we were there and the who place was awash with frogs!
All in all another great visit to Centre Parcs, as usual the only downside the price and quality of food in the restaurants leaves a little to be desired.
